Beet microgreens offer earthy flavor, tender texture, and vivid red color. They make an attractive finishing green for salads, entrées, soups, and restaurant-style plating.
For the best flavor, freshness, and texture:
Refrigerate immediately at 40°F or below.
Keep microgreens in their original container with the lid closed.
Keep them as dry as possible. Excess moisture can cause faster spoilage.
If condensation develops, place a clean, dry paper towel inside the container and replace it when damp.
Do not leave microgreens at room temperature for more than two hours.
Keep them separate from raw meat, poultry, and seafood.
Washing Instructions
Unless the package says “washed” or “ready to eat,” gently rinse the amount you plan to use under cool running water. Do not use soap or produce wash. Dry carefully with a clean paper towel or salad spinner and serve immediately. Washing microgreens before storage may shorten their shelf life. FDA produce-safety guidance
Shelf Life
For the best quality, enjoy your microgreens within 7–10 days of harvest, or by the date printed on the package. Some sturdy varieties, such as peas and sunflowers, may remain fresh slightly longer when properly refrigerated, while delicate varieties may have a shorter shelf life.
Discard microgreens if they develop:
A slimy or unusually wet texture
A sour or unpleasant odor
Mold
Severe wilting or discoloration
Short package version:
Keep refrigerated at 40°F or below. Keep dry and wash gently before use unless labeled ready to eat. For the best quality, enjoy within 7–10 days of harvest. Discard if slimy, moldy, discolored, or unpleasant-smelling.
