How to Plan your dream garden
This can be an exhausting task to accomplish without the right tools and information.
How big of a garden do you want? What do you like to eat? What will grow in your soil?
How much work do you want cultivating your plants? The list goes on and on…
To me, it must be a labor of love. The pride of seeing someone enjoying a piece of fruit or vegetables in something you designed and cultivated.
So where do you start? As I had mentioned earlier let’s think about the type of foods you like to eat. If it is vegetables, then we need to know what goes well together. For example, let’s say you are growing squash. Perhaps you would want to also grow tomatoes, or green onions to go into the mix. Or perhaps you are a salad lover, how about some spinach or lettuce.
We must also think of how we want to grow these fruits or veggies. There are a number of new found way to grow anything you could imagine.
One method is building the most common vegetables and fruits grown successfully in in-ground gardens. This is when you create a traditional garden. The types of products that can be grown in this manner are limitless.
Another is the hydroponic garden; this type of gardening has become very popular. This is a great way of growing vegetables and herbs without a lot of space. A typical garden can be grown in what is referred to as The Tower Garden. The growth rate is very impressive and again you can grow almost anything except root bearing plants. Potatoes, onions, radish etc.…
What does your garden need for sun? Do your plants need a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight? How much water do they need? Most of these answers are on the packaging of most seeds. If not you can find those answers on the internet.
How much work do you want cultivating your plants? We all have the same 24 hour day, so make sure you do not create a mountain from a molehill. If you are like me my ambitions can sometimes get the better of me. My recommendation is to start small, do your first garden as a micro garden. See how much work it will require. Learn how to grow your plants in your soil. Learn how much TLC is required. Once you have mastered the smaller garden it time to expand.
Tending your garden. Remember the simplest methods for your garden care is what you want to develop. There are many different types of organic fertilizers that are environmentally healthy. And there is equally the same amount of organic natural bug repellants like Captain Jacks Deadbug. You can prep your growing areas with Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer.
Remember this is a labor of love and the most important part of any garden is you are a part of creating something beautiful that helps your body and soul.
